I have owned and operated a Hot Tub and Pool Table warehouse since 1999 and concentrating on profits is a shift I made 2 years ago... Offering more value... Before I always thought the answers to all my problems were to sell more... I sold 200 Hot Tubs in 2004 and I want to sell 250 in 2005.... Well it never really occurred to me that raising prices could accomplish the same result...I brought my average GP per Hot Tub from $1,100 to $1,800 over 2 years... this was accomplished by raising prices... I didn't have to advertise more or add another product... I just raised prices.... The key has been giving people an opportunity to pay more, we could always go down on price if needed. The amazing thing is that even at our old pricing we had to negotiate off pricing too.... We do the same now but we are starting at 15-20% higher.....and 10-20% pay what we are asking...This has been a very exciting and effective process...

Hey Charlie again great article but I have one bone of contention.

I challenge you on a small point that people are far more interested in what they want then what they need.

Just look at credit card debts around the world and I would say that most of that is purely driven by the 21st Century I want it now syndrome

Love to know your thoughts.
