It\u2019s what makes you stand out from your competitors.\u00a0 And it must convey a huge benefit to your prospect.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">What does a good USP look like?\u00a0 Well, how about this:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cFresh, Hot Pizza Delivered in Under 30 Minutes\u2026or it\u2019s Free\u201d. That\u2019s the classic Domino\u2019s USP.\u00a0 And the owners came up with it by looking at their market. It was the 1970s.\u00a0 They lived in a college town.\u00a0\u00a0 And college students are stuck on campus\u2026often without a car.\u00a0 And of course, they\u2019re young\u2026so they\u2019re a little impatient, too.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">So what did they want? Pizza delivered to their door\u2014and quickly.\u00a0 The \u201cFresh, Hot\u201d part of the USP is a great setup, by the way. It really \u201cpaints a picture\u201d of what they\u2019re selling.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>And \u201cFree\u201d, of course, is the most powerful word in copywriting.\u00a0 When you use it in a guarantee and it becomes even more powerful.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Now, you don\u2019t have to use \u201cfree\u201d\u2026or even a guarantee.\u00a0 But you do need to understand what your market wants.\u00a0 You need to know what their biggest problem is.\u00a0 And you need to frame your solution in a way that\u2019s totally irresistible.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">That\u2019s what a great USP does.\u00a0 It\u2019s the core concept that all your marketing is built on.\u00a0 When you discover it, you\u2019ll have the beginnings of a highly profitable ad campaign.\u00a0 You\u2019ll have \u201cprimed the pump\u201d for higher profits.
