To function  \t\t\t          <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketingforsuccess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/success-tips.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-4914\" title=\"success tips\" src=\"https:\/\/www.marketingforsuccess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/success-tips.jpg\" alt=\"success tips\" width=\"150\" height=\"100\" \/><\/a>effectively, all three legs need to be solidly in place.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Without clear goals you won&#8217;t move  forward. Without marketing knowledge  \t\t\t          you&#8217;ll waste your time instead of pulling in many more  clients.  \t\t\t          Without a plan of action, your marketing won&#8217;t get done.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Setting Your Small Business  Marketing  \t\t\t            Goals<\/strong><br \/>\nStaying on track can be a struggle, whether you are trying  \t\t\t            to stick to a diet or get your marketing in shape. How  can you  \t\t\t            get started and maintain your marketing momentum? What  you need  \t\t            to do is make a commitment to specific marketing goals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Winners set both large and small goals,  and they put specific goals  \t\t\t          in writing. This last task may sound superfluous but it can  make  \t\t\t          a big difference to your success.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">One of my goals had been to write a book,  a task that seemed overwhelming.  \t\t\t          Of course, no one writes a book all at once, they are  written a  \t\t\t          page at a time. With a short-term goal of writing three to  five  \t\t\t          pages a week, I made steady progress, wrote three books and  have  \t\t\t          outlines for two more.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Take a piece of paper or fire up your  word processor and<br \/>\nmake a list of goals for yourself and your business.  Include  \t\t\t            both long and short-term objectives. When you write your  objectives  \t\t            where applicable include who, what and when.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The easiest way to get started is by  beginning with your long-term  \t\t\t          objectives and then getting more specific. Ask yourself the  following  \t\t\t          questions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">What are your five-year goals for your  business?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">What are your small business marketing  goals?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">(They could be skills, knowledge, new  prospects or new customers.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Be as specific as possible when answering  \t\t\t            these questions and defining your goals. For example, you  might  \t\t\t            say, &#8220;I want to have published  \t\t\t          eight training manuals, be earning two thousand dollars  \t\t              a day and working less than 40 hours a week in two  years.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mfsstore.com\/5Pmanual.html\" target=\"_blank\"><strong>Discover how easy it is to  attract many more clients and  \t\t\t          be more successful &gt;&gt;<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.marketingforsuccessstore.com\/5Pmanual.html\"><strong><\/strong><\/a>In addition to setting broad and long-term goals, you need  \t\t\t          to set small and short-term goals. Define your annual,  monthly,  \t\t\t          weekly and daily goals. Once you&#8217;ve got them down on paper,  take  \t\t            a copy and thumb tack it over your desk.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">What&#8217;s a one-month marketing goal you can  accomplish?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">What&#8217;s a one-week marketing goal you can  accomplish?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Some days you&#8217;ll feel like you&#8217;re on a  treadmill going nowhere  \t\t\t          and your long-term goals continue to be out of reach. When  this  \t\t\t          happens, try two things. First look at the list of what  you&#8217;ve accomplished  \t\t\t          in the last week, month and year. Second, with your larger  goal  \t\t\t          in mind, circle the next finite and easily completed  objective on  \t\t\t          your list and get going.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Every time you complete one of your  objectives, no matter how small,  \t\t\t          you&#8217;re that much closer to reaching your long-term business  goals.  \t\t\t          If you&#8217;re writing a book, each page you write puts you that  much  \t\t\t          closer to your goal.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Could you improve your small business  marketing  \t\t\t          by clarifying your long and short-term marketing goals?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">When you have clear goals and track your  marketing  \t\t\t          accomplishments, it is easy to stay motivated.
