{"id":6262,"date":"2010-09-12T07:02:39","date_gmt":"2010-09-12T12:02:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/37d57f8fa2.nxcli.io\/blog\/?p=6262"},"modified":"2010-08-31T15:07:02","modified_gmt":"2010-08-31T20:07:02","slug":"pro-copywriters-amateurs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.marketingforsuccess.com\/blog\/copywriting\/pro-copywriters-amateurs\/","title":{"rendered":"The #1 Question That Separates the Pro Copywriters From Amateurs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left;\">If you\u2019ve enjoyed my last two posts on how to hire a great copywriter, then you\u2019ll love this one.\u00a0 That\u2019s because I\u2019m going to reveal the single most important question you can ask a copywriter before you hire them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">This question truly separates the \u201caverage\u201d from the \u201cgreat\u201d copywriter.\u00a0 And it\u2019s a question that most copy pros are hoping you don\u2019t ask.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">You see, this question scares the hell out of most copywriters.\u00a0 Ironically, it\u2019s about something they constantly tell their clients they MUST do in every promotion.\u00a0 And yet only a handful of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketingforsuccess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/copywriters.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-6264\" title=\"copywriters\" src=\"https:\/\/www.marketingforsuccess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/09\/copywriters.jpg\" alt=\"copywriters\" width=\"120\" height=\"150\" \/><\/a>copywriters follow their own advice.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">So what is this mystery question?\u00a0 Simple.\u00a0 All you have to do is ask your prospective copywriter one thing:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>DO YOU GUARANTEE RESULTS?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">You already know that a great guarantee makes all the difference when it comes to getting prospects to pull the trigger.\u00a0 You\u2019ve probably experimented with a number of them before finding one that works best for your market. And if you don\u2019t offer a guarantee, I can guarantee you one thing\u2014it\u2019s costing you money.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">You see, <strong>a great guarantee removes all the risk from the prospect<\/strong>. It removes that last barrier to the sale.\u00a0 And it can actually be the centerpiece of your business.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">And yet a good guarantee has one other aspect: it only increases your risks a tiny bit.\u00a0\u00a0 That\u2019s because a really good guarantee is based around one thing: the biggest promise you can make to your prospect\u2026and keep.\u00a0 It can\u2019t be wishy-washy or have too many conditions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>To really increase your sales, a guarantee has to totally remove any fear of failure on the part of the buyer and make taking action a no-brainer.<\/strong> In fact, it should make NOT taking action seem, well\u2026kind of dumb.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">So what kind of guarantee should your <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketingforsuccess.com\/blog\/copywriting\/whats-the-difference-in-email-copywriters\/\">copywriter<\/a> offer?\u00a0 Well, any guarantee is better than none.\u00a0 Many copywriters (myself included) guarantee that our copy will increase you profits\u2014or we\u2019ll re-write every single page of copy until we do.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">For instance:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cIf you don\u2019t substantially increase your profits within 30 days of implementing my copy, I\u2019ll rewrite every page until you do.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">And, for clients who use my consulting services, there\u2019s an extra guarantee:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cIf my consulting and copywriting services don\u2019t create a 10% increase in your response rates and significantly boost your profits\u2026my services are 100% free.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">The reason I can offer these guarantees is because I know that I can make good on them.\u00a0 Any copywriter worth their salt can say the same.\u00a0 But most won\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">S<strong>o why won\u2019t copywriters guarantee results?<\/strong> I\u2019m not sure.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">But I see the same thing in other service professions, too. When I was selling real estate, I was the only agent in my city to offer any sort of satisfaction guarantee.\u00a0 And those guarantees set me apart from the crowd. In fact, they were responsible for much of my success.\u00a0 After all, when you\u2019re willing to put your money where your mouth is, people trust you.\u00a0 And when people trust you, they buy from you.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">When you hire a copywriter, you\u2019re trusting them to increase sales and add to your bottom line.
