While we usually get a foot or less of snow each year &#8211; here in Connecticut, we\u2019ve already gotten over six feet since December!<\/p>\n<p>For the record, I love snow but our Connecticut home wasn\u2019t designed for it. The fairly flat roof over our den has a nice big ice dam on one side, and the water is running inside.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketingforsuccess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Success-Tips.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-7830\" title=\"Success Tips\" src=\"https:\/\/www.marketingforsuccess.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/02\/Success-Tips.jpg\" alt=\"Success Tips\" width=\"150\" height=\"135\" \/><\/a> My wife particularly loves when this happens &#8211; for some reason she hates it when it rains in the house.<\/p>\n<p>Then there is the driving.<\/p>\n<p>With ice and snow covering most of the roads, I\u2019ve seen more accidents and cars off the road than ever. Which is no surprise given that driving in snow requires doing the opposite of what you might think.<\/p>\n<p>To stop in snow, you want to avoid your brakes, otherwise your wheels will lock up and you\u2019ll go into a skid. To get going in snow, you need to accelerate very gently otherwise your wheels end up just spinning.<\/p>\n<p>The same rules don\u2019t apply when you\u2019re driving in snow.<\/p>\n<p><strong>And the same is true in business.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Over the last few years our economy has been hit by a recession, the bubble burst, and the \u201cgood\u201d times went away. Whatever you want to call it \u2013 things have changed. The strategies that used to work to accelerate sales and to steer your business along the road to success, just don\u2019t work anymore.<\/p>\n<p>Traffic is down. Sales are down or stagnant at best. The easy traffic you used to get that came in the door on its own has dwindled or has simply disappeared. Gone!<\/p>\n<p>And that\u2019s not all.<\/p>\n<p>Not only are leads down, but the old <a href=\"https:\/\/www.marketingforsuccess.com\/blog\/lead-generation\/can-you-teach-your-small-business-prospects-to-buy\/\">selling tactics<\/a> &#8211; the pitch and pray approach \u2013 don\u2019t work anymore. People don\u2019t want to hear them, don\u2019t respond to them and they don\u2019t make money.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The truth is people aren\u2019t buying like they used to.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Why?<\/p>\n<p>They\u2019re fearful, they lack confidence, they\u2019re afraid. They\u2019ve gotten frugal, and their cash flow is limited.<\/p>\n<p>So think you can\u2019t get people to buy?<\/p>\n<p>Don\u2019t be silly!<\/p>\n<p>Despite everything you hear, billions are still being spent in your market by your customers, and this year, more of them are coming out of hiding to start buying again. You can tell yourself a bunch of excuses or you can tap into all that cash and grow your market share.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s true &#8211; it\u2019s not as easy as it used to be to get people to buy.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The game has changed. Now find out what to do instead!<\/p>\n<p>There are two things you need to give your prospects to get them to buy; Two things that 97% of all businesses don\u2019t do with their marketing.<\/p>\n<p>Here they are:<\/p>\n<p><strong>A. Become the go to expert in your industry niche.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You know a lot about houses, cars, design, accounting, whatever your niche is \u2013 now use all that great information that\u2019s floating around inside your head and let it out. No one wants to be sold by just another product pusher.<\/p>\n<p>They want to work with someone they can trust. You need to help people get to know you (as a person and a professional), like you, and trust you. It\u2019s the first step to getting your prospects to want to buy from you.<\/p>\n<p><strong>B. Provide value.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m sure you think you\u2019re already doing this. But if you\u2019re not generating sales, there is a communication gap between you and your prospects. While you may be detailing all the great benefits of your products and services, it\u2019s going right by them. It\u2019s going in one ear and out the other.<\/p>\n<p>They aren\u2019t getting it \u2013 otherwise they\u2019d be buying everything you have to sell.<\/p>\n<p><strong>So what can you do?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Discover how to stand out as the only logical choice in your customers\u2019 minds, how to sell more, sell with less effort and get more out of life.
