Have you ever reached the end of the day and wondered what happened to your time management?<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s the big mistake that most people make that leads to not much being accomplished.<\/p>\n

Big mistake!<\/p>\n

Why?<\/p>\n

Because pretty soon you’re answering one email, and then another and then another. Pretty soon it\u2019s ten o\u2019clock and your plan for the day has gone right out window and things are spiraling out of control. \u2013 and while you\u2019re feeling productive in most cases it\u2019s wasting your time.<\/p>\n

If your only job is answering emails that\u2019s one thing, but most people have larger tasks they need to accomplish and if you want to get these done, you need to set aside time to do them and do them first.<\/p>\n

You can always answer those emails later in the day, once you\u2019ve taken care of the truly important task, like planning your next product or figuring our your marketing strategy.<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s an alternative way of starting your day, one that can improve your time management double or triple your productivity.<\/p>\n

Instead of diving into those emails first thing, make a list of what you want to accomplish for the day. Then prioritize it. Note how much time you think each task will take and make a plan for the day.<\/p>\n

Your plan might look like the following:<\/p>\n

8-9am write blog post
\n9-10am research joint venture partners
\n10-11am record audio tutorial
\n11-12am answer emails
\netc<\/p>\n

The simple concept is that if you take control of your time, you\u2019ll be far more productive than if you just respond to what shows up in your email box, on your phone or walks in the door.<\/p>\n

Why bother?<\/p>\n

On average, just by making a plan for the day, setting goals<\/a>, and working your plan, you\u2019ll get your work done in 25% less time, freeing up 2 hours a day to get more work done, if you\u2019re so inclined or leave early and go for a walk, hang out with your family or whatever you want.<\/p>\n
