And without the one piece of information they want, you\u2019re letting them walk away, with money in their pockets, when you could easily implement a strategy to convert them into top paying clients.<\/p>\n<p>Let me give you an example.<\/p>\n<p>Back in January, I took a spill skiing and finished tearing my ACL, the ligament at the back of your knee, which gives it lateral stability. Since then I\u2019ve been skiing with a knee brace, putting off the surgery until the end of ski season.<\/p>\n<p>A few weeks ago, I went into see the orthopedist my wife uses. It turns out his business is slow, so I was able to get right in. And I know he\u2019s competent, as he did a great job on rebuilding my wife\u2019s thumb joint.<\/p>\n<p>After his examination, he had me go for an MRI of the knee, and when I took a look at the report it was clear I was going to need surgery.<\/p>\n<p>So did I call him back and schedule the operation?<\/p>\n<p>Actually, I didn\u2019t.<\/p>\n<p>I made an appointment to see another orthopedist, the one who operated on my shoulder six years ago. He\u2019s much harder to get into to see and operates out of NYC, an hour\u2019s drive away.<\/p>\n<p>Why didn\u2019t I sign up with the local orthopedist?<\/p>\n<p>It had nothing to do with logic, competence or convenience, all the things most people use to try and sell their products and services.<\/p>\n<p>The fact of the matter was the first orthopedist rubbed me wrong. It felt like he was trying to sell me on the operation and I didn\u2019t like him. I felt like he was more concerned with his small business sales, than he was with my well-being. And after thinking about it, I didn\u2019t want someone operating on me I didn\u2019t like or that I felt was trying to sell me.<\/p>\n<p>Ultimately, I\u2019m sure he would have done a fine job, but I didn\u2019t like him or trust him.<\/p>\n<p>Simple as that! He\u2019d lost the sale.<\/p>\n<p>So let\u2019s review.<\/p>\n<p>The first step in marketing is to get your prospect\u2019s attention, but what then?<\/p>\n<p>Once you\u2019ve got their attention, the key is to help them get to know you, like you and here\u2019s the big one \u2013 TRUST YOU, so they want to buy from you.<\/p>\n<p>Without trust your prospects will do what I did. They\u2019ll walk away and go to your competitors, even if you\u2019ve got the perfect solution.<\/p>\n<p>How can you get your prospects to know you, like you and trust you?<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re reading this, the answer should be immediately apparent. Share ideas, stories and tips. Videos are even better.<\/p>\n<p>Help people get to know you as the competent, caring and fun-loving person you are. When you do, you\u2019ll stand out head and shoulders above your competitors. And when your prospects are ready to buy, they\u2019ll buy from you.<\/p>\n<p>When people decide to buy from you, it\u2019s not by chance. It\u2019s because you\u2019ve given them the information they need and want in order to trust you.<\/p>\n<p>Ready to double or triple your small business sales this month?
