The last two weeks have been a nightmare for my production team.<\/p>\n

They\u2019ve been working hard to get our new site ready for launch and slaving away managing the compression of some largish videos and loading them on to the site.<\/p>\n

And while I appreciate all the hard work… \"\"my designer, my videographer and my webmaster put into it they all made the same mistake \u2013 which I\u2019ll take the blame for.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve worked hard to train my staff a very important success tip – always have a can do attitude. If they\u2019ve got a problem, I don\u2019t want them relying on me to solve it, or for it to go unsolved. I want them to try and figure it out themselves \u2013 which is fundamentally a good idea but it\u2019s got limitations if you take it too far.<\/p>\n

For example, these past two weeks, my team, has been struggling to deal with a video problem, that it turns out is very complicated, and actually requires both an expert and some software only a few video specialists have.<\/p>\n

Which is why the smartest question asked in the past two weeks came from my graphic designer, this past Friday, when she asked my webmaster, if she actually knew how to solve the video problem or needed help. To which my webmaster indicated she was stuck. She\u2019d just been trying everything she could think of but it wasn\u2019t working.<\/p>\n

Within an hour my graphic designer had gone back to our videographer and found the online service he recommended and had a solution in the works. This after two weeks of struggling and wasted time.<\/p>\n

There is no shame in asking for help.<\/p>\n
