A few weeks ago, my daughter turned 6 months old.
Becoming a father is the greatest thing that’s ever happened to me. I truly love my daughter in a way I can’t explain.
Seeing her smile, hearing her giggle, and watching her practice rolling over is…
the greatest joy I’ve ever felt.
And she’s growing so fast! She’s gone from an 6 lb., 8 oz infant who barely fit in my huge hands…to a beautiful young ‘semi-toddler’ who’s as long as my arm!
Needless to say, it’s giving me a new outlook on life – and a new view on marketing.
When it comes down to it, having a business like having a baby… especially when it comes to marketing.
My daughter needs someone to feed her when she’s hungry. She counts on mommy and daddy being there with the bottle. In the same way, my business also needs to be fed new leads, new products, and new offerings to my customers. That’s the only way it’ll stay healthy.
I can’t imagine what she’ll be like in 18 years. But the truth is – I’ll never stop taking care of her. It’ll look a lot different than it does now, but I’ll still be taking care of her.
It’s just like this in business. You never stop marketing your business. Marketing simply looks different than it did 5, even 10 years ago.
In other words, methods of marketing your business and raising a child simply EVOLVE.
Here’s the secret in all this: Simply because a marketing medium looks different than it did several years ago, doesn’t mean it’s not important. You have to marketing your business in the beginning days just as you’ll have to market it 20 years from now.
The methods will simply evolve with the market.
If you truly want to be successful in business, you can’t take this responsibility lightly.
If you’re not marketing as effectively as you can, get started now. Purchase a new course. Or…dust one of the previous marketing courses on your shelf off and go through it again.
Be flexible, learn as much as you can, and set the waves in motion for your success.
