#1: Give away things for Free or next to Free.
In an uncertain economy, people don’t want to spend what money they do have unless they need to. By giving away something for free, you help build a relationship with your customer and show them hopefully that your product or service is worth buying and that they need it.
By creating a sales system where you get customers in your business with a free offer, you can upsell to a medium or expensive package deal. By this time, you have built a relationship with your customer and you also know more about them so you can decide what they need most.
#2 Be creative.
Everyone hears the same things over and over again. Try something new. Think outside the box. People want to laugh and be entertained. Use that for your business! Create a funny picture or video and send out some postcards or emails with it.
People today are stressed out and busy. You have to grab their attention! Review your marketing strategies and decide whether or not they are working, creative, and exciting. If they are just like your competition’s ads, most likely they need to be changed to STAND OUT!
Bill Glazer is a great example of a marketer that takes pride in standing out of the crowd. It may seem a little crazy at times, but different works!
#3 Fine tune your spending costs. Make adjustments.
If you are spending $1,000 per year or spending $100,000 each year on marketing, it is worth your time to review your strategies and see if changes will help your end profits.
Perhaps you only market offline and you know you need to get into using the Internet because of its cheaper ad costs and higher ROI. This can also go for online businesses that don’t advertise offline. I’m sure we have all seen the Go Daddy ads for the Superbowl.
Perhaps you are doing advertising, but you have no idea what your ROI is! If this is the case, I suggest you talk to the person in charge of the advertising and find out if you can change this immediately! Ask if there is a way to do a direct marketing campaign.
A common example is a listing in a newspaper or Yellow Pages. You have no idea of the effectiveness of the ad unless you include a call to action in your ad where if people respond to your ad, you have an offer through that ad.
