Karate? I had my doubts.
In November of 2008, Steve White signed up to work with me one-on-one to grow his Karate business in Manchester, New Hampshire.
I know nothing about Karate.
In the midst of one of worst economic downturns in history, Steve wanted to get more people to sign up to learn Karate, a discretionary purchase and one that requires a lot of hard work.
Would he profit from marketing mentoring?
I was skeptical too.
Here’s what Steve said last week:

Sometimes to reach your goals you need move beyond skepticism to commitment.
In January, Gale signed up to get help growing her Employee Benefits Communication Business.
Benefits Communications? Actually with the new health laws I was pretty sure this was a winner.
Of course I know nothing about Fortune 500 Employee Communications programs.
Six months later, her business is experiencing record growth.
Clearly I’m not an expert in every industry niche.
The only expertise I claim is in business development and in marketing even though many of my clients look to me for guidance on key management issues.
