I get emails from subscribers like you all the time, but don’t have the time to respond to every one. But here’s one question that I’d like to answer.

“Charlie, I thought you were a marketing expert, so why is it you keep bringing up stuff about your life, your boat, your bike and your obsession with skiing?”Small Business Marketing Questions to AskGood question!

The BIG mistake most small business owners make in trying to market their business is that they are focused on getting new customers without first understanding the Big Goals that should be the focus of all their efforts.

If you don’t:

1. First decide what you want your lifestyle to be,
2. How much you’ll need to make to create it,
3. How you want your business to operate,

You are just wasting time and money on marketing your business.

Or if you just set aside 15 minutes to set your lifestyle goals then you can come up with a simple plan for reaching them. And once you have your goals and a plan, marketing is easy, because you know where you’re going.
