Don’t Let Your Marketing Rob You Blind

By Charlie Cook   |   February 18, 2010

In January, I received several calls from business owners who were just short of a nervous breakdown. What has shaken them up so much?

Well for one thing, they’ve been suckered into investing tons of money into advertising that produced virtually zero return on dollars invested! What’s more, their sales teams are working their fingers to the bone and keep coming back empty-handed. Read More »

I Dare You To Ignore This…

By Charlie Cook   |   February 9, 2010

I hate it when my I come home and my wife has bad news for me about our home. The house we own is great in most ways but somehow every few years the roof starts leaking and the water finds its way in through one of the ceiling fixtures in our upstairs hall or laundry room.

And while I wish these leaks would fix themselves, I know that the longer I wait to take care of them the more damage to the ceiling, walls and floors I’ll end up dealing with. Read More »

By Charlie Cook   |   February 5, 2010

Of course not. You’d stick with it for months if not years, using the same strategy, eat less, exercise a bit more each week, until you’d reached  your goals. Read More »

Social Media Works For Dell – Will It Work For You?

By Charlie Cook   |   January 8, 2010

I have to admit I’ve been a skeptic of social media. Every time I hear someone talk about spending an hour a day managing a Twitter account, Facebook or any other of the social media sites, I cringe.

For the most part it seems like just one more distraction for small business owners who already wear too many hats and are challenged to stay focused on their marketing. As a business owner my hands are full already and if I have any extra time I’d rather be biking or skiing. How about you? Read More »

By Charlie Cook   |   December 15, 2009

1. How To Get Your Marketing Questions Answered

It’s been getting out of hand. As the year wraps up I’ve been getting more emails than I can answer from people with questions about what to do to get more business, how to set up their blog or how get more traffic to their web site, how to find a web designer, and on and on.

People are sending in great questions and while I want to provide answers, instead of answering them individually via email, I’m going to start answering them in person, over the phone, once each month. I’ve set aside an hour to talk with you. Read More »
